DESIGN for ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

Even though Additive Manufacturing allows for the production of highly complex geometries, it does not mean that all parts can be printed (or are cost-effective to print). Our team will work with you to optimise your designs to optimise efficiency and producibility.  We use state of the art tools for AM design, topology optimisation, build nesting, support generation and build simulation to ensure that parts are fit for your application.

BUILD SIMULATION

We aim for first-time-right production and make use of state-of-the-art build simulation software to predict distortion and build failures before producing parts.  This assists us in in optimising parts and builds before the manufacturing process, improving the quality of parts and reducing manufacturing costs.

The Aeroswift technology has a massive build volume and allows for very fast production rates.  This allows us to produce parts that are not possible with other technologies and to do this at competitive costs.  We utilise layer thicknesses down to 50 μm and can produce parts with wall thicknesses down to 0.6 mm. Our unique scanning strategy and vapour extraction systems ensure consistent part quality over the entire build volume, while high temperature preheating ensures less distortion and improved results.

THERMAL PROCESSING

We are making use of Aerospace qualified vacuum furnace facilities for stress-relieving and annealing to ensure material properties to your requirements. We do not offer HIP services and outsource these to international service providers as required.

MACHINING and FINISHING

Depending on the application, many 3D printed parts will require some form of machining and/or polishing process.  We work with you, firstly to optimise the part design to reduce the post-processing requirements, but also to identify the ideal finishing solutions for your application.  We have access to a range of technologies and expertise in this field.

INSPECTION and TESTING

We have access to a range of inspecting and testing equipment including mechanical testing, chemical testing, dimensional inspection and radiographic inspection. We can tailor an inspection solution to your needs, to ensure parts are ready for use.
